On very rare occasions, MG Motor Australia has had to conduct vehicle recalls. If this does occur, owners will be notified by mail at their last known address. Therefore, it is important to always keep your contact details up-to-date with your MG Service Advisor, in case of the unlikely event that your vehicle is recalled.
Owners should review the Current Recall Notice section on the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts site and where applicable contact any MG Dealer to arrange an inspection, and wherever applicable rectification of their vehicle. This will be carried out at no charge to the owner of the vehicle.

What are the defects?
Due to a manufacturing defect, the carpet underlay may be positioned between the nut and the electrical ground stud. If the nut detaches over time due to vibrations whilst driving, it could cause the wiring beneath the floor to overheat and it may result in a fire inside the vehicle.
What are the hazards?
A vehicle fire could increase the risk of injury or death to vehicle occupants, other road
users or bystanders.
What should consumers do?
Consumers should contact their nearest MG dealer to arrange an inspection of the vehicle and rectification where necessary, free of charge.

DO RECALLS HAVE EXPIRY DATES?
Official safety and compliance recalls do not have expiry dates. Affected Vehicles remain eligible until the repair is completed.
HOW DOES MG DETERMINE WHEN A RECALL IS REQUIRED?
Vehicles involved in a MG recall may be identified by specific build dates and models within a year range, the manufacturing plant or other factors. If a recall campaign is announced on a vehicle, MG Motor Australia will notify the last owner on record by email or postal mail.
